Description We have a small legal firm in West Valley city who is in need of a Paralegal. It is a well known company who likes to promote within, so they a Paralegal someone who is willing to grow with their company, is dedicated, with amazing work ethic.
Our Paralegal will have the following responsibilities:
Completes routine legal research on various issues as directed by an attorney or supervisor, or as needed by court customers.
Collects information and reviews legal documents and forms for completeness and procedural compliance with code requirements; conducts legal research; reviews/assesses factual matters and claims related to cases.
Provides information and educational materials to the public regarding court rules, regulations and procedures; reviews documents with self-represented parties and explains their legal options; provides assistance in completing and filing legal forms; explains fees and fines; screens cases and refers to outside agencies where appropriate.
Maintains statistics and prepares periodic reports.
Performs community outreach activities to inform the public of the self-help services offered by the court.
Other duties as assigned.
Gathers and compiles evidence for attorneys by interviewing witnesses and collecting materials, documents, and reports
Prepares trial notebooks, organizes evidence, and prepares exhibits
Interviews clients, witnesses, and others, and serves as a liaison between clients and attorneys
Monitor and ensure proper service within statutory time frame on all necessary parties which includes researching addresses to obtain service.
Communicate directly with process server.
Prepare basic motions, summonses, subpoenas and other legal documents as required.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all deadlines including, but not limited to, answers, defaults and discovery. Requirements • A high school diploma or GED, plus a minimum of three years of law-related attorney supervised experience
• Knowledge of workers comp law

• Review, draft and file legal documents such as discovery responses, motions and other pleadings for attorneys.
• Legal research.
• Input billing for daily activity.
