Provo City Housing Authority is seeking a BI-Lingual, highly-motivated, hard-working team player with exceptional organization and time management skills that will be working across all three of our housing programs, Public Housing, Housing Choice Vouchers, and Tax Credit Properties. The Housing Specialist is responsible for assisting individuals and families with applications for each program, maintaining and updating the waiting lists, performing annual and/or interim re-certification processes for existing residents, and maintaining accurate paper and electronic tenant files. Additional activities may include showing units to prospective tenants, advising new residents of lease provisions, overseeing and assisting with the calculation of rent, performing new resident orientations and move-ins, preparing and submitting reports and other documentation required by federal regulations and internal operating policies, and performing some unit inspections.
Position requires fluency in Spanish and expert level knowledge of HUD regulations related to at least one of our housing programs, Housing Choice Vouchers, Public Housing, or Tax Credits. Knowledge of fair housing laws, landlord tenant law, and HUD rent calculation is also required.
Successful candidates should have a college degree in public administration, social services, or similar discipline, a valid UT driver's license, strong computer skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
This position requires a pre-employment drug screen, a valid Utah driver's license with good driving record, and reliable transportation.
